MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE, TNT 10PM ET - TONIGHT
Episode 2.04 #fb
Make @MikeRoyce and me happy. Watch it. Preferably Live.
There are also reruns of Chuck on NBC at 8, 9 and 10. Watch at least two of them Live. I'm fairly sure they aren't Scott eps, as they didn't show up in my DVR's Upcoming list.

this news comes from Best Friend, so I'll have more details when she's not busy, or I read my google alerts or visit the SBFF or do some research. My friend subscribes so it's probably not on the stands yet - if you can find it on the street at all anymore. Around here, it's quite hard to find.

Video -- Eisenhower & Lutz clip, circa 1988, DVDs, Premiere Reminder
Pam wishes her google alerts would stop screwing with her: Scott Bakula – Eisenhower & Lutz.
Got a note from TNT reminding me that Season 2 is coming soon (12/6). There are promos all around but I'm only going to post things with actual non-clip content. If you will see it in the show, I'm going to hold off and let you do that. If Scott comments on anything, I'll post.
Remember, DVDs of Season 1 are on sale now. If you are looking for good prices, check out Black Friday Ads - there's a search box, and Amazon is price matching, if you can find a sale.
Those of you in the US, have a great Thanksgiving! We will be home. We are not up for the airport strip search. (Also unemployed)

Interview -- Scott Bakula Sorry He Talked About 'Quantum Leap' Movie
The headline was not chosen by me. I've been mostly ignoring the movie issue as I'm not sure it will ever get any further than it has since 1993, and since Scott won't be a big part of it if it ever actually does. (The Petition posts were for a friend)

It's the Most Wonderful Time of The Year
Nope, not Christmas. It's Press Season!
With Men of a Certain Age's Season 1 DVD out next Tuesday, and the series premiering... um... what did I say last? December 6? there's going to be a lot of press (interviews and reviews on all kinds of media).
Guess it's time to stop playing with the bunny (and Facebook Privacy, and The Gosselins and whatever else I was into all year) and actually read my google alerts.
Hang onto your hats. Scott is finally on a network that understands the meaning of the word "promotion."

Interview/Video -- Scott and Andre on Men Of A Certain Age
Scott and Andre talk about female viewers and their storylines (in almost general terms). Is it spoilery? Depends on your level of spoiler allergy. I would have been happier to not have watched some of it, but it's not *too* bad.
If you want to know if Terry does well or badly at the dealership - don't watch the second half. Care about relationships? Ditto.
thanks to Cynthia
EDIT: perhaps I should have written talk about their storylines and female viewers. They don't talk about the female viewers' storylines.

Site News -- I Don't Like LIKE
If you've never seen the Facebook LIKE button, you've been away from the internet for a few months. The LIKE button is everywhere and it's sending data regarding you (don't ask me which data) back to Facebook, if you click on it. There's even a LIKE button on SBFF.
I generally don't cry "the sky is falling!" but I have an aversion to Facebook's uquity (even though I have an account myself, and I use it LOT) and datagrathering activities. It's not just a button, it's an Iframe with javascript in it. For more info, feel free to google it.
My point, and I do have one, is that Facebook is also trying hard to outstrip Google as a search engine (even though it's not a search engine but a social media site) the idea is, people are more likely to follow, visit, buy from a site or company their friends liked. (Facebook recently partnered with Bing, to "make searching more social."
So, since I refuse to invade your privacy by putting Facebook's LIKE button on my site, feel free to use the Twitter button at the bottom of each post to share this site with your friends or followers. You won't end up adding to Facebook's profile on you, and you might even push BakulaNews up a bit, in the search engines. (Or link to me - that will do it too.) The only reason I care about being "up there" in Google is so people can find out (more/news) about Scott (was it exciting to be #1? Sure, but it's not the goal here.)
And for those of you reading the side menu or the date on the top frame, yes, I know they are way out of date (most of the links still work, though) I just have to drag out the computer with Dreamweaver in order to update them, and I haven't)

TV -- if you get Biography Channel, one of these shows will have Scott
I did not read this in great detail, sadly, as I do not get the channel - but since you may...
Biography Channel is airing 2 documentaries by Shatner and Scott is in one of them.
Either "Star Trek: Captain's Log", Wednesday, November 3 at 8pm, or "Captains of the Final Frontier" at 9pm.
I would check my listings, but I don't get the channel.

Chuck -- Back 11 but no more Scott
thank you to @_baylink:
We have just received the news that Chuck has been picked up for the back 9 PLUS TWO making season 4 a 24(!) episode season! (that's rare!)
As noted in a recent post, Scott will not be returning. We are not sure whether this means that Papa Bartowski will simply not come back to life or that Scott will not appear in any way, including flashbacks.
Televisionary's post on this topic (Chuck, not Scott) contains a link to NBC's press release.

Video -- Scott Bakula rehearsing
Matt Damon Scott Bakula Rehearsing | @ t o p 1 0 h o l l y w o o d
This is a handheld video from across the street. The zoom is fairly decent but the stability may prove nauseating. Also note that The Informant! - which is what they were rehearsing - was out in theaters September of 2009 - not next spring. Aside from that, take a dramamine and enjoy! (No, you can't hear them either, but hey - maybe you can figure out why Scott's jacket appears to be ripped. If you know, let me know!)

Brief Editorial
I started this site in 95 cause I really loved Scott (not romantically of course) and I wanted to share him with "new" people who might be interested in him, and share news of him with any fans who just wanted news (no chatter - maybe people who loved Scott but were busy or had many fandoms - like I would love to find sites that would quickly give me the latest on Donny Osmond and Josh Groban. They each have sites but I don't feel either is doing it). Just the facts - a quick dose of Scott news and a heads up if he was going to be "seeable" somewhere.
I became a fan of Scott in 93/94 for a specific reason that a fan a Dragon Con just reminded me of.
I'd heard for years that "when Scott is talking with you, it's like you are the only person in the world." Years later, at the funeral of Donny Osmond's mother, one of her sons gave a eulogy of "I Was Mom's Favorite." She had 9 kids, but it was the same thing - she made everyone, when she interacted with them, feel that way. That's a talent - it's not an act, it's sincere, but still a talent, to aspire to. This is one of the main reasons I love Scott. He knows how to give people that feeling. I don't have that talent. Haven't learn it yet. But I do have the feeling that I want everyone to have that experience from him. And that's why, even after almost 15 years and even though I've developed a lot of other "hobbies" and things I need to get through online, and sometimes I miss a piece of Scott news here and there (though hopefully, I catch it in time for you to watch it or get there) I still have to do this:
I love Scott. I want you to have the chance to experience that too.
So I'll be here - before you miss it.

We know nothing, but we can assume.

No. He wasn't even nominated. Nor was his show, Men of a Certain Age. However his cast-mate Andre Braugher was. sadly, he did not win either.

Interview -- Scott Bakula talks #Chuck, Men of a Certain Age, #Trek
Star Trek Interview with Scott Bakula
Chuck
Chuck
I had a ball on the show. They have a great bunch of people over there, including a lot of Enterprise people, which was fun for me also. I thought the scripts and the character were well written, which is what got me over there. I’d been a fan of the show and continue to be. Zac Levi leads a great group of actors over there and we had a good time. When they called me to come back and get killed they explained to me what they were trying to achieve, and the idea was that my death would help this young man grow up. They wanted to shock Chuck into that, and killing his father seemed like a good way to do it. I think they executed it – pardon the pun – very well. I think it played well and I think it had a profound effect on the series and on Chuck. I’m curious to see where they’ll go with it.Quantum Leap Movie
This is all I know. I have spoken with Don (Bellisario, who created the show) and he’s been approached by a producer to write a script and produce a Quantum Leap film. He’s intending to do that and has begun work on it. And my understanding is that Dean (Stockwell) and I may have a small cameo element to the movie. But it hasn’t been written yet. So we’ll see.

Scott was at the Emmys last night with the gang from Men of a Certain Age (Andre was nominated but did not win).

Television - News - 'Chuck' Bakula 'won't return to show' - Digital Spy
Digital Spy is full of crap. They scream "SPOILERS" - but they PUT THE SPOILERS IN THE HEADLINE.
I apologize for the spoiler of telling you the Chuck's dad Is Really Dead, but there is no way you are going to miss this (especially since they put it in their headline) unless you step away from the Internet, TV, radio, and print media (billboards are probably safe) AND NEVER COME BACK until the show is canceled.

Bonus Tweet Treat -- Old Commercial /Twitter Button -- Seems to Work
This was a test of the twitter button. If you had clicked the link in this post, you would have ended up at Scott's Folgers Commercial from the 80s. :-)
To share with your friends on Twitter, use the button below, now.
Thanks for your patience during this test.
(Now if Twitter could just make a Tweet Now button for my browser like Facebook has, but without the Facebook-like side effects, I would be a happy sharer (on other topics, with my other friends, in my other hobbies).

Off Topic -- A book "review"
More of a synopsis really.
When I'm not busy with Scott, my friends, watching my varying scripted TV series, or playing with my duck and the bunny, I have strong feelings about the subjects of this book: A mother, a father, and the 8 children whose lives their decisions affect.
Pamela J. Ashworth's review of The Secret World of Jon and Kate
I've disabled comments, as all the ones I have received to date have not been in English and contained links to sites I would not recommend my readers visit (I believe they contained viruses or malware). Therefore, should you wish to comment or throw rotten fruit, I can be reached by using the "Contact Pam" link in the upper left corner of the very outdated top frame of this page.
Thanks for your indulgence.
I now return you to Scott News. Please see below for articles about Scott's upcoming appearances (yes, the left frame is out-dated too) at DragonCon in Atlanta in September, The release of the Men of a Certain Age DVDs in November, The premiere date for season 2, and The Charity Golf Tournament in L.A. (You Can click on any of the LABELS at the end of this post (and then scroll past *this* post again) to get a pageful of posts on the topic you are interested in.)
There are lots of articles being written about the possibility of a Quantum Leap movie, but all we know right now is that Don is writing a script, there may be a big name directing (or not - I missed a couple of words) and Scott and Dean will have minor roles. And no, we don't know how minor. And considering the way Hollywood works, it could still all come to nothing, therefore I refuse to get my hopes up at all until they at least begin shooting. And there are no projected dates for that. I'm just looking forward to Men of a Certain Age.

Comments -- Turned Off
I had comments on moderation, but every one I've ever gotten has been in Asian characters with links to websites I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. In other words, spam. People are being paid to type in captchas and spam. How sad.
I didn't approve any of them. There is a Contact Pam link at the top of the page. If you want to comment, email me.

"Everybody talks about doing a movie," he told the cheering capacity crowd ...adding that... Donald Bellisario was "working on a script for the film." When pressed for details... Bakula said it was too soon to discuss a plot, but that it was "likely" he and costar Dean Stockwell would make appearances.

Report -- from the Q&A, with picture
Geek Girl on the Street posted this report of Scott's Q&A at Comic Con
And thanks to Geek Girls
“Saying ‘oh boy’ when you’re a vampire or coming up out of the water in the jungle of Vietnam is way different than if you say ‘oh boy’ when you’ve leaped onto a farm, are holding a pig and there’s a thermometer in the pig’s butt. Thanks for that, Scott.
